About us

Plumbing and gas from Ballina, across the Northern Rivers

HIBE Plumbing & Gas does plumbing and gas fitting for homes and businesses. The work is the everyday kind that cannot wait: leaking and burst pipes, blocked drains, toilets that will not stop running, hot water systems that have gone cold and gas appliances that need connecting.

A lot of it comes down to finding the real cause before touching anything. A drain that keeps blocking has a reason, and a camera can show it. A damp patch has a source, and the water meter usually points to it. Fixing the cause once is quicker for you than fixing the symptom three times.

The same applies to gas. Gas jobs are treated as a safety job first and a repair second, and we are straightforward with you about what a connection, a leak check or a replacement involves.

The work travels. It goes across Ballina, Lennox Head and Skennars Head on the coast, up to Alstonville and Wollongbar on the plateau, north through Suffolk Park, Byron Bay and Bangalow to Mullumbimby, Brunswick Heads and Ocean Shores, and west to Lismore. There is nowhere to drop in to, because all of it happens at the property.

How we work

Four things we will not trade away

01

You are told what we found before anything is touched

We show you the problem, explain what it will take and what the options are, and you decide. Nothing is cut, dug or removed on a guess.

02

The cause gets fixed, not just the symptom

A drain is cleared and then looked at on camera. A leak is traced to its source rather than patched where it shows. The aim is that you do not ring about the same thing twice.

03

Gas is a safety job first

Connections and leak checks are done carefully and explained to you, and we say plainly when something should not be used until it is put right.

04

You are left with a clean job and a plain account of what was done

We tidy up as we go, take the old parts away and tell you in ordinary words what was replaced and why.

How a job runs

From the first call to the handover

This is the order the work happens in and what you will know at each point. Ask about any of it before you book.

The call

Described in your own words

You do not need to know the name of the part. Where the water or gas is, what it was doing just before, and whether you have already turned anything off is enough to start with.

Looking at it

The fitting, the meter, the line

Many plumbing jobs are decided somewhere other than where the water shows. We check the isolating valve, the meter and the run of the pipe before we decide what the job is.

The quote

What it takes, before work starts

We tell you what we found and what putting it right involves. If something behind a wall or under a slab changes that, we stop, tell you, and you decide before we carry on.

Fixing and handover

Tested, cleaned up, explained

We test the work, run the water or gas back up and show you the result. The offcuts and old fittings leave with us.
